Mainly because of it's success and the fact the initial version was released back in 2010, we've created MASH natively (iOS + Android), using Titanium (original Android release) as well as a Facebook (Haxe/NME) version.
On the surface, MASH may seem like a simple game targeted to a young audience but there is a decent amount happening behind the scenes. I used PHP and ExpressionEngine for the story editor, story download api, push and pull notification generation (see screen shots below), S3 and CloudFront for CDN, and finally NodeJS for API and push notification delivery.
All this for a simple kids game but... it has over 3M downloads, 30k 4.5 star rating and 25k Facebook Likes so it was definitely worth the effort over the years.
